Leg 2- Disney World Pt. 2

On Wednesday, we started off at a character meal in the Disney MGM Studios theme park. There was a full breakfast buffet complete with Mickey Mouse shaped waffles! And the Little Einsteins and JoJo and Goliath came around while we ate.

Then they taught the kids how to the 'Hot Dog Dance' from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It was great! Except, Bryant wasn't in the mood to see any characters yet! After that, we spent part of the day getting autographs from the boys' favorite characters, and then we watched a parade. Tres and Hank rode the Star Tours ride, and Bryant and I got a snack. Then we headed over to the Magic Kingdom again, and road rides until we were tired out!

Both days, the boys didn't nap at all. They just kept going and going (like little Energizer bunnies!). As we left the park on Wednesday night, Bryant was on my shoulders. He was resting his head on mine so I asked Hank if he was asleep. He told me no. Less than a minute later, I saw his little arm flop to the side, and I knew he was out. Again, he slept through the bus, the monorail, a tram ride, and being transferred into the truck and tucked into his seat for the ride back to Grammy and Pop Pop's house... and then through getting him tucked all the way in for the night!

It was a fun trip. This was the very first trip that just me and Hank and boys took alone (without any other family members) and it was successful!

Leg 2- Disney World!! Pt.1

We spent Tuesday and Wednesday at Disney World. This was Bryant's first trip to Disney, and it was very successful! We got up early on Tuesday (4:45 am local time) and loaded up two sleeping boys. We drove about 2 1/2 hours to Orlando, and got there in time to check in at the hotel, change the boys into clothes and head into the Magic Kingdom. We spent all day there!

We rode the Buzz Spin 4 or 5 times ("I shoot Zurg, Mama!"); the Blue Line 5 or 6 times;

Dumbo (or 'Bumbo' as Bryant called it) twice... the second time, Tres said it was a 'baby ride!' and opted out; Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan only once each because the lines were atrocious; the Haunted Mansion or the 'hunted' house as Tres called it! ("I can't believe I made it out of there Mom!"); I took Tres for his first ride on the Astro Orbitor since he was tall enought now; twice on the Tea Cups, which seemed to be a personal favorite for Bry; once around on Small World... where two sleepy boys nearly fell asleep; Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride where Bryant laughed and smiled the entire time; Tres and Hank went through the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House ("People actually live in there Mom!").... and much, much more!

We got Bryant to go up to Donald Duck on Tuesday. He wasn't jumping into his arms or anything. In fact, he even hid behind Hank's legs after he gave him his autograph book. But after that, he was okay with seeing characters up close! That night we stayed at the park until 9. Bryant fell asleep in the stroller, so we headed out... he slept as I picked him up, as we got on the bus... through being transferred into the truck to drive around to our room... he snoozed as we got into the room and as I changed his diaper, his clothes, and tucked him in. And he slept until I woke him up for a bath the next morning!

Leg 1- Valdosta, GA

We made it to Valdosta yesterday... the first leg of our vacation! The boys came down with their Grammy and Pop Pop, and Hank went with me (and 'el) to sing at the Church of the Cross in Anniston yesterday morning. Hank and I headed out from there and made it here by 6 pm (our time!). We had dinner and then I played Farkle with the girls for a while before everyone had to help straighten Grammy's house and head to bed!

Today is for relaxing and getting all of our stuff together for Disney... we leave at 5 in the morning! Yeah! I can hardly wait to see Bryant's reaction. I told them stories about two little boys going to meet Mickey last night until they fell asleep. They are two very excited kiddos!

Well, I better go see what all six of the kids are doing... they are being entirely too quiet for six kids! :) And just think, on Thursday, we'll have all 9 cousins together with 9 adults! And we'll feed them all!

A Bunch Going On!

So we have been a very busy family lately! We are getting ready for the last Alabama home game against Auburn.

We have been helping my sister and brother-in-law paint and do stuff at their home (close to the final stages of building!).

We have been trying to get the Corvette and the Chrysler Van ready to sell.

My in-laws come into town today for the game, so i did a quick cleaning job on the house and planned a quick and easy meal tonight.

The boys are spending the night with my parents since they won't see them until well after Thanksgiving, so I am over at my mom's house right now waiting on her to get here, so I can go help Tonnie paint for a couple of hours then get home in time to make that dinner!

Tonight I will be wrapping Christmas gifts for all of the Boemer side of the family! So fun! Wrapping always gets me in the holiday mood!

Then next week, we go to Disney then Thanksgiving with the Boemers!

Busy and fun! I will try to update as I go!

Night Time Prayers

Last Sunday night, I was praying with the boys before bed. We had originally planned to have Luke come over and spend the day with us, but he couldn't because he got sick. I've been asking the boys every night what their favorite part of the day was and encouraging them to tell Jesus about it. So Tres was midstream in his prayer/conversation with God when he looks at me, and says, "Oh Mom!! I forgot about Luke! I need to pray for him!" So I told him to go ahead. "And God," he says, "please help Luke to quit vomiting, so I can play GameCube with him. Amen."

Possible shirt for Bry's 1st Disney trip

These are possible shirt ideas for Bryant's first trip to Disney World. I usually make t-shirts for every trip. The pictures will be on the front pocket with their names, and on the back it will have the whole family. Tell us what you think!

Hank

Girl's Day!

I am so excited! One of my BEST friends, Kelly Willis, told me a couple of weeks ago to get a sitter for today so that we could have a girls day! We are starting at Edgar's Bakery for lunch, then we're gonna catch a movie. My mom is gonna watch the boys for me. It's much needed, I think. I love my boys and my family and taking care of them. But a little rejuvination never hurt anyone, huh?

Here's a game the boys have been playing lately. Bryant let's Tres drag him around the house! Sounds like carpet burn to me, but they just laugh and laugh!

Changes

We have re-arranged again at our house! This time we shifted Bryant and his toybox into Tres's room, and moved all the office stuff into Bryant's room with the single bed (just in case there are nights we can't get them to sleep together!). It's nice to open up our bedroom a little. And now there is a room to go to if you need to pay bills, etc. I really like it!

Bryant and Tres have been inseperable lately! They sleep together, bathe together, play together, eat together, get in trouble together, etc! So it seems that the move to the same room has gone smoothly!

We took this picture a few weeks ago. The boys found all the VHS tapes in a drawer and decided to build a tower together. It was very inventive, but a pain to sort through afterwards!

We are also trying a different technique at bedtime. I will be the first to admit that there are times in this adventure called parenthood that we are just flying by the seat of our pants and hoping that we get it right! But, I gotta say, bedtime has been fun. We tell stories, or read a book... say prayers... sing a song, then lights out. It has been nothing but laughter and fun for me! My heart if full!

Pictures!

I finally got blogger to let me publish some pics for the last couple of posts! Yeah!! So check them out!

Here's Tres's latest joke:

Tres: Knock, knock!

Mom: Who's there?

Tres: Why did the chicken cross the road?

Mom: Why?

Tres: Aren't you glad I didn't say banana?

Bryant Stuff

Today was interesting. I woke up with a massive head ache. But I had promised my mom I would take my sister Jennie to the doctor because she was waiting on an apointment at the house that was supposed to get there sometime between 9a-1p. So I took the boys to mom, picked up Jennie and took her to her doctor. By the time I got back to mom's, I was having shivers and feeling miserable. Mom offered to let Tres stay and play, so Bry and I headed home. I got him down for a nap and then myself. When we got up, the electricity was out, so we took a short walk. The power was back on pretty quickly.

Today made me realize something. I don't get to spend a lot of one-on-one time with Bry. So when I do, I try to focus directly on him. He loves to dress up and act mean! His favorite weapon of choice is a sword. Tonight, I caught him more than once, waiting for his brother and daddy at the front door, and practicing his poses as he watched his reflection. He counts pretty well, and his speaks better and better. He makes some pretty funny faces! He is animated and quirky! He still lets me hug and kiss and hold him like a baby every now and then... like just a while ago when I held him and sang to him until he fell asleep.

He's been playing this new game. I call it 'The Hawlp! Game.' He pretends to fall off of something or be knocked down, and he holds one arm up to his daddy or me and says, "Hawlp! Hawlp!" until one of us 'hawlps' him. He is also into EVERYTHING and thinks he can get away with ANYTHING as long as he smiles. He says "I nin't mean tu!" instead of I'm sorry. And instead of saying yes ma'am like I've taught him, most of the time he gives an exagerated "Ottttaaayyyy!"

He falls asleep with one leg crossed over the other at the ankle and his arms behind his head or he falls asleep completely covered up from head to toe. He love ranch dressing more than ice cream. He says an words with an 'l' in it with his tongue stuck out to make the 'l' sound. I like for him to say 'yellow' and 'Bob the Builder' the best. He loves to sing. His favorite song right now is Jingle Bells, aka Bee-a-boll. When he sings it, it goes a little something like this: "Bee-a-boll! Bee-a-boll! Bee a aww a way! Hey! Bee-a-boll! Bee-a-boll! Bee a aww a way! Hey!"

And the boy can pucker for a kiss better than anyone I know!

Just wanted to share... these are things I don't want to forget when he is older.

Disney On Ice

We took the boys to see Disney On Ice on Saturday night. It was great! Since it was their 100th anniversary, they had all the great characters there. The boys wanted to dress up, so Bryant went at Buzz Lightyear and Tres went at the Red Power Ranger... both very cute!

We had great seats, courtesy of 33/40... front row!! Bryant only got scared one time, when the Genie appeared out of a cloud of smoke... I don't think they are very familiar with that cartoon, yet. Anyway, after popcorn, drinks, and cotton candy that came with a crown that had Mickey Ears, we came away only having spent $17! We took them last year, and spent over $50 on souvenirs! I know, I know... we love our kids though.

We saw the stories of Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Incredibles, Buzz Lightyear, Pinochio, and more skated and acted out. It was so fun! Fireworks and Mickey completed the evening! It was good preperation for our upcoming trip.

We plan on taking the boys for a two day visit to Disney the week before Thanksgiving. Since we will be in Val Dosta anyway for the holiday (only 3 hours from Orlando) we decided to make it count! It's just gonna be me, Hank, and the boys! I'm so excited!

Halloween- Take 2

Here are some more pics from Halloween night. The first stop we made was to my grandparent's house! The boys love to visit Papaw and Gigi! Gigi just had knee replacement surgery, so we brought some super heroes over to see her.

Then my parents came over to my grandparent's house and my dad wanted to see them trick or treat at a few houses.

Then we went to my friend Kelly's house to trick or treat with her kids (Alexandra & Audrey) and my sister's kids (Sierra & Luke).

Bryant as Superman, Tres as Batman, Luke as the Red Power Ranger, Aundrey as a Ballerina, Alexandra as a Fairy Princess, & Sierra as a Fairy Princess.

F.Y.I.

Tres is in the bathtub. I was washing his hair. He just informed me that:
"If you get soap and water in my eyes, I will cry like a little screaming baby!"

I am fore warned.

Alabama vs FL International

Last week was the Alabama homecoming game against Florida International. Since Hank's mom and dad were in Disney with the Welborns, we got to take some friends with us. We asked Eric and Jennifer Snyder to go. These guys are true friends. Not only to do pinch hit and watch the boys for us. But they actually want to spend time with us and expect nothing in return. So, it was nice to be able to do something with them! Good thing Alabama won, or they couldn't have come back to a game with us, huh guys?? This was the first game it was actually cold! I had to bum Hank's sweatshirt to stay warm!

Bama plays Mississippi State today, and then only one home game left.... the big rivalry... Alabama vs Auburn!

'el stuff!

'el is going good. We have one more engagement this year, then we are taking off for the holidays! We sent out a promo sheet last week to work on bookings for next year. I'm proud of this 'one pager.' I designed it myself and put it together on photoshop.

It's difficult for me to separate the business and ministry sides of 'el sometimes... it just seems such a difficult balance. But I think we are doing all right. We sang at Dothan on October 29th. It was fun! We got to see a bunch of people that we had met over the years from All State Choir and Drama. Bethany & Shane Wise, Misty Kelly, Wendy Odom, to name a few.

It was also an awesome time of ministry. It is quite easy in a church the size of Dothan First to get intimidated. It would have been just as easy to listen to the voice of the deceiver telling us that we weren't good enough. But we pushed through in prayer, and man did I feel His anointing!! It felt fresh, which is huge considering that we have sang these same songs for a while now!

The good news is that we are ready finacially to head back into the studio! The next step for us is getting together and going through all the original songs and deciding which ones to use for this one! I am super excited! I feel like we learned a lot the first time around, and now is our time to put that into practice. God is good! It feels good to be living a God dream.

Halloween

Halloween came and went in a blur. The boys were super cute trick-or-treating. The first five houses were the best! Between each one, Bryant AKA Superman, would run and jump with one arm fisted in the air and say "Up, up, away!" And after each house, once the door was shut, Tres would loudly proclaim, "Next house!" I brought the wagon, and before it was said and done, we were pulling one and the other was on Hankie's shoulders. Then came the candy high!! They were up until midnight, folks!!

"Up, Up... awaaaaay!"

"Next House!"

Watch out Batman! The Man of Steel is gonna getcha! Either that, or he's defending the stack of laundry you seem to be attacking!
