More park adventures!

We went to meet Nicole and her family at Joe Tucker today. Well, we should have realized that with it being Spring Break here, EVERYONE would have the same idea! There were so many kids there that Nicole and I were both a nervous wreck trying to keep up with 7 kids combined! So it was a short trip, then we picked up a pizza and headed back over to my house for lunch and more playtime! We had fun, Nicole!

The Next Michael Buble

An oldie... but a goodie! Some of you will remember this song from your children's church days.

I'm so sorry that this song will be stuck in your heads for the next few days, but I just couldn't resist posting this! Bryant love, love, loves to sing and he does it constantly. He does it consciously and unconsciously... hums, sings softly, sings loudly, sings funny, sings serious. And if he doesn't know the words, he comes up with his own. Tres will, I believe, make a fabulous back up singer as well!

I Fought The Law...

...and the law won. Thursday morning, I was taking Bry to school and got pulled over. I was pretty darn surprised when I saw the lights in my rearview mirror, cause I knew I wasn't speeding. I didn't even know where he came from, to tell the truth. So I pull over. Let me paint you a little picture. I am sporting the latest hair-do... greasy ponytail. I am wearing my favorite pajama pants and a t-shirt with a jacket on over it. Also wearing the latest in flip flop fashion... and no make-up.

He asks me for my driver's license and insurance... so I asked what I had done. He told me that I rolled through a stop sign and that I had endangered the life of my children by doing so. Did I mention that he was about 7-10 years younger than me? No? Well, he was. I furnished my license and was still digging for the most current insurance card... the one in my purse had just expired on 2/28/09 and I knew we had gotten the new ones, but I couldn't remember if I had actually put them in our cars yet. Regardless, he gave me a ticket for rolling through a stop sign and told me he would 'let me slide' on the insurance since my card had just expired. I told him that I was driving a rental car that was covered by my insurance because of an accident, and he just looked at me like, 'yeah, whatever you say lady.'

Now, I wouldn't be ticked at all if I were a 'dangerous' driver. I mean, I haven't had a ticket for at least 5 years... couldn't he have just given me a warning? Come on!

A Moment in (Daylight Savings) Time

It hasn't been too hard to get adjusted to Daylight Savings this year. In fact, we are enjoying the extra hour of daylight... we play outside a lot right now! Yeah for fresh air and worn out kids! Love it.

But the Sunday of the time change, it sort of snuck up on us! I totally forgot on Saturday night to go around and change our clocks... in fact, it did not occur to me once that we needed to on Saturday.

So I woke up Sunday at what I thought was 8:00 and started getting ready. At 8:45 I went o wake up the kids and Hank after I got muffins in the oven. When Hank got up he said, "Did you fix the clocks?" That's when I looked at the clock and in that split second tried to figure out how to get us all dressed and at a church that is 30-40 minutes away in only 15 minutes... cause I thought it was 8:45 and it was actually 9:45 and church started at 10.

We decided to stay home, let the kids sleep in and I fixed us a big breakfast instead. It was just a moment in time in our house, but we loved every minute of it!
(By the way, still living with windows open around here!)

Playdate at the Park

Mondays are pretty laid back at our house... we only have one drop off and pick up since Bry doesn't go to school that day. So we thought it would be a good day to plan a play date with some new friends. I've been catching up with Kristy on Facebook and we decided to get our kids together to run off a little energy at the park since the weather has been so fantastic!

We got there a little before they did and all Bryant wanted to do was help his sister. I just love this about him. When he is with her... he is all about her. He gets on her level and plays with her.

Then Kristy got there with Annalise and Gideon. The kids instantly hit it off and Kristy and I went about trying to talk and catch up while keeping up with active kids!

Two pretty princesses! They were so cute together! Soph kept saying, "Baby!" like she isn't one herself. Love it!I love how Gideon kept coming up to me and saying, 'Hey, Bryant's Mom...' He is such a cute and sweet little man.

Sophie liked picking the 'fow-ers.' She picked a dandelion and I told her she needed to blow it and she put it right on her lips... too funny!

Monkey boy, Bryant! He loves to climb and be a daredevil!

Bryant checked to make sure there weren't any Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in this drain when we went for a bathroom break!

We're so glad we got to play with our new friend, "Indian" (that's what Bryant called Gideon)!

And We're Off!

Hank and I have a tournament this weekend and next so we will be ultra busy! But thank you Lord for Spring Break! I'm looking forward to a week of a little less structure!

I have some great pics to post when I get back! I plan to get back to blogging regularly.

Energy Level: Low

I feel a little deflated today... wish I looked it! Ha! Seriously. We went to Huntsville Saturday and Sunday for a volleyball tournament. We had a pretty good time, but we didn't finish well in the tournament. I have some changes in mind for that, but we'll see.

We got back home around noon and stopped by our house on the way to get the van since we drove the Camry to Huntsville.Isn't everything so pretty with a nice, white, fresh layer of snow? And the roads were still safe, so all the better!

We went and played with the kids at Mom & Dad's house since they had been waiting on us all morning. We made snow angels... ...built a couple of snow men... (sorry about the blurry pic, but Bry had gotten me and my camera already with a snowball!)...introduced Sophie to the idea of 'so-baw' fights......the boys turned their snow men into a fort......but they weren't expecting an attack from behind from the woman who gave them life!My Dad even made everyone some Snow Cream and the boys loved it!

We decided about 3 or so so load them up and head home to relax a little before heading to Sierra's (my niece) 10th birthday dinner at O'Charley's. Well, I had corralled the boys outside and had Bryant inside the van. Hank had just finished loading our snow wear and the kid's overnight bags into the back of the van and had just closed the back door. With Sophie in my arms, I walked around the front of the van, and just as I got to the front passenger side door, I heard a loud cracking sound and looked up just in time to step back and put Sophie under my arm before half of a dead tree fell onto my van. It busted the back windshield, heavily dented in the passenger side, scratched and dented the top of the van, and put a branch literally through the back bumper. This is the branch that pierced the bumper. We called the cops, but it turns out we don't need an accident report since no one was at fault. So we have a call into the insurance company and are waiting on an adjuster to call us.

After that.... phew... I wanted to go home and go to bed... but we still had to celebrate a certain yound ladies birthday! I can't believe it's been ten years since I first laid eyes on her! Look at how cute!!I just loved, and still love, the idea of being the fun aunt! This pic was taken right around when I graduated college... so wow!Happy Birthday Sierra Miran! I love you! "Sierra Miran... Sierra Miran... She was so tiny, she fit in a turkey pan!" [Sung to the tune of Cruella Deville]

You Gotta See It...

You will not believe our weekend... pics and story to come... I still can't believe it.
