Future's So Bright

Every time Ava Sophia takes a bath, she insists on putting on her sunglasses... I mean EVERY TIME! It's cute, and we just don't want to forget! Smile!

I took Sophie in for her 2 year check-up this week. I knew that she had gotten a little taller, because some of her 12 month dresses were getting shorter. But the good thing about that is little girl's dresses easily convert to longer shirts! This is her while we waited on the nurse to get us at the doctor's office. She stands and studies the fish and says over and over and over again, "Momma, it's Nemo! It's Dory, Momma!" Did I mention that she says it over and over? :)

Anyway, I was hoping that she had at least made her way onto the percentile scale that 'they' (the medical community, I'm assuming) say that children need to be at the top of. But, it wasn't meant to be! My 'itty bitty' weighed in at 21.6 lbs, keeping her under the curve again. She did make it onto the scale for heighth, though! She is in the.... wait for it... 5th percentile for heighth! She had to get a shot, but only one, so the sucker at the check out made her all better.

It is so crazy how children are so different in body type at each stage in their life. She is so pretty...and she is perfect! I tend to think America bases all their childrens' growth on a higher scale than most other countries. I remember when Vidya, at CLC, had her first. At two weeks late, her baby weighed 5 lbs 1 oz. I mentioned how small that was and she explained how that was a really good weight in her country. Makes us think twice about what is "normal." There is no normal! Your child is perfectly petite...and precious(:

Love the bathtub picture. Are her glasses on upside down? Chloe & Jax both do that- not in the tub, but wear them updside down.

We did the same thing with Chloe and her dresses. She still has one she wears that is 12 months that I pair with jeans and its super cute! Of course she has over 20 dresses that she could wear, so I need to put away the itty bitty clothes and move on, but its cute! LOL.

Way to go Sophie on the 5th precentile~ You go girl. Being little has it advantages!
