Happy Anniversary... Last Month!
Hank and I will be heading on a late anniversary trip this Thursday. I am VERY excited! We haven't got to go on a trip by ourselves since our honeymoom! We will be leaving Bryant here to stay with my mom (my sister Tonnie is going to keep in during the day), and we are dropping Tres off with Hank's parents in Nashville. Then we are driving up to Kentucky to the Derby with Danny and Jackie Butler! I am so excited! I even went out and bought some lingerie (something I haven't bought in a couple of years)! Of course it was on the clearance rack, but I don't think Hank will care! :)
I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to just being 'Hank and Jamie.' Not 'Mom and Dad' or 'Tres's parents' or 'Bryant's parents' (although I wear those titles as badges of honor!). I am looking forward to getting back to grass roots and focusing on us!
Here's a little history for you:
On our first anniversary, we went to Nashville to visit his parents (not really sure why). We left Tres (then 6 months old) with his parents and we spent the day at Opry Mills walking the garden and grounds and having dinner together. It was a nice day, but a little crowded at the end of it.
Last year, we had Bryant on April 2, and came home from the hospital on April 5 (our anniversary) so needless to say it was on the backburner.
This year, we are celebrating late in order to make it a big deal! In fact, I had tried to surprise Hank with this trip, but ended up having to tell him.
I feel blessed because we are only having to pay gas and food. Hank's best friend Danny found us a place to stay free and he got us some passes to the Derby free!
