We're Back!

We made it back from the beach safely. We had a really good time, at least if you ask me! The boys both loved staying at the 'pink house,' as they call the house we stay at. We went with Hank's best friend Danny and his Jackie, who is quickly becoming one of my favorites! Tres was immediately attached to Uncle Danny (who acts like a kid himself!). While Bryant fell in love with Aunt Jackie! We got there around lunchtime on Friday. We unloaded and went and got some lunch then hit Wal-Mart to pick up a few groceries. Once we got done there we headed to the beach. Tres LOVED it, once again this year. He played and played in the sand and hopped a couple of waves with me in the surf. Bryant on the other hand wasn't sure about the whole beach thing. He did enjoy playing in the sand for a while. And I took him in the water, but he didn't like that AT ALL! I think he thought the water was alive or something. He clamped his little legs so hard around my waste that it almost hurt!! We headed back to the house and set up a pool and we played there for the rest of the day.

We ate SO MUCH seafood! We ate in for breakfast and lunch most days, and ate out most nights. So we had shrimp, fish, crab legs, crab cakes, hushpuppies, and all kinds of good things! And my boys love to eat!

We all went to Destin on Sunday and hit the outlets for a while, then ate at the Back Porch. That was a fun day... except Tres threw up on Hank! It was so hot, and he had just had too much junk food, including a cookie with lots of red icing!

Tres & Bryant got to play putt-putt for the first time. Tres was so cute! He would get down on his knees and hold the club close to the head and hit the ball! Bryant was content to carry a ball and club around the whole time. It was a little stressful trying to keep up with them both, but it was fun!

Danny and Jackie left out on Monday morning, and Hank and I stayed an extra night. It was nice. We took the boys to an Alvin's Island where there were live Alligators (or Crock-O-diles, as Tres called them) and a couple of live sharks (which we named Bruce, Stan, and Moe). Then we went and swam some behind the pink house. When it was time for sunset, we got the boys dressed in white shirts and jean shorts and headed out to take pictures at the beach. Now THAT was an adventure. Getting both boys happy and smiling and looking the same direction was a challenge... but I think in the long run it will be worth it! We pick up the pictures today, so I will try to scan some tomorrow! After we did pictures, we saw a school of Dolphin swimming close to shore... it was so cool! I think we got a picture of that too!

The next day, I re-packed us all up (pack-n-play, high chair, and toys included!), and we waited on my mom. She was coming to stay at the pink house next... so we waited and had lunch with her. Then we all swam for a while, took showers, and my crew loaded up and headed home! Tres slept almost the whole ride home, and they both took extra long naps yesterday!

I must admit that I am the tiniest bit jealous. We haven't been back to the beach since leaving florida 18 months ago. I was wondering where you went. Glad that your back safe & sound. And that you have a great family vacation!!!
